Job summary

Ohio University in Athens, OH is seeking a Cook Assistant to support the culinary team. Under supervision, you will assist in food preparation, help cooks with quantities, and display food per standards. You will set up and break down lines, clean work areas, and follow safety guidelines.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in extreme temperatures, and use standard kitchen equipment. It offers varied hours and benefits through Culinary Services.

• Ability to read and write simple to complex instructions.
• Work independently or with others in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and help cooks cook quantities of food.
• Set up and break down food lines; clean and maintain work areas.
• Prepare, serve and display food in accordance with recipes.
• Follow OSHA and Ohio University safety guidelines and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
