Job summary

College of the Desert seeks an Information Technology Technician to provide hardware and software support, set up media and computer systems, and deliver first level helpdesk assistance on campus. You will troubleshoot issues, manage inventory, and assist with backups and updates across the Palm Desert campus.

The role requires an Associate degree and two years of related experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse users.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in computer science or information systems.
• Two years of experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers and related technology.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software and assist users effectively.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, deliver, and troubleshoot media equipment and computer systems.
• Provide first-level helpdesk support by phone or in person.
• Log helpdesk interactions and prioritize requests according to procedures.
• Maintain hardware inventory and software licenses.
• Assist with web and portal updates and nightly backups.
• Research and test new hardware and software and report conflicts.
• Prepare reports and gather data as needed.
