Job summary

Dawar Consulting's Indianapolis-based client, a world leader in life sciences and diagnostics, seeks a Desktop Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support and day-to-day IT operations across field-based and specialized environments.

The role covers desktop, mobile, and end-user computing with focus on GxP, laboratory and R&D spaces, plus equipment delivery and campus IT support. Candidates should have 2+ years in desktop and on-site/remote support and ITIL knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of desktop support experience with PCs, laptops, and peripherals.
• Minimum 2 years of onsite and remote technical support experience.
• Minimum 2 years of mobile device support experience; Apple devices preferred.
• High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of ITIL v3 processes within an IT service delivery environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Desktop Support & IT Operations
• Provide hands-on and remote technical support for PCs, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
• Provide 2nd-level technical support for field-based and specialized environments, including GxP, Labs, and R&D.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
• Take ownership of incidents and work proactively to restore user productivity.
• Manage day-to-day IT activities at the site independently while following company guidelines and procedures.
• Support Apple mobile devices and other mobile technologies.
• Equipment Delivery & Campus Support
• Deliver and transport computer equipment between buildings across the campus as needed.
• Operate a company vehicle for campus-related IT equipment deliveries.
• Maintain proper handling and organization of IT equipment.
