The role requires a high school diploma or GED, EPA refrigerant handling certification, and four years of mechanical trade experience (or equivalent vocational training).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• EPA refrigerant handling certificate is required.
• Four years of experience in a mechanical trade (vocational/technical training can substitute).
• Ability to understand standard equipment operating and handling safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman and mechanics with monitoring, repairing, and installing HVAC systems on campus.
• Monitor and correct any deficiencies in HVAC systems as directed.
• Understand the type and purpose of each system used to maintain buildings campus-wide.
• Investigate technical problems and determine solutions to maintain service.
• Instruct junior mechanics in proper protocols and repair procedures.
• Report job information to supervision including repairs, deficiencies and parts needed.
• Report unsafe practices or conditions to supervision.
