Job summary

University of Portland is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair campus heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. You will inspect equipment, follow preventive maintenance plans, interpret guidance, and perform complex tasks with minimal supervision.

Requirements include 2+ years’ HVAC/R experience; associate degree or trade certs preferred. You will handle on-call duties and interact professionally with students, faculty and staff in a dynamic university

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience with HVAC/R or boiler systems.
• Prev. preventive maintenance experience preferred.
• Assoc. degree or trade certs preferred.
• Experience with hand and power tools required.
• Ability to read and interpret specs and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Review and respond to work orders via TMA system.
• Perform preventive maintenance: filters, belts, readings, lubrication.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R equipment including chillers and heat pumps.
• Provide on-call support as part of campus facilities team.
• Maintain safe, professional interactions with students, staff and faculty.
