Job summary

The Hun School of Princeton is seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Mechanic to join the Facilities Department. This full-time, 12-month position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and covers all campus HVAC systems.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across buildings, with occasional after-hours work to meet school needs. Required: 5+ years’ experience, HS diploma, and a valid driver’s license; certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years previous experience required.
• HS diploma required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Black Seal, EPA certification preferred.
• HVAC, Plumbing certifications preferred.
• Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing certifications a plus.
• Experience with VRF systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC equipment across campus.
• Plan, organize, and schedule work in an efficient manner.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and order parts and materials for job completion.
• Deliver reliable services to students, faculty and staff for heat and air in all buildings.
• Repair or replace pumps, filters, valves, controls, sensors, etc.
• Maintain log books for HVAC equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly mechanical room.
• Possibility to work beyond typical hours; some evenings, nights, weekends, emergencies.
