Job summary

University of South Carolina Beaufort is seeking a Housing Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across university housing facilities. You will troubleshoot appliances and plumbing, handle carpentry and electrical tasks, and respond to requests through the work order system.

The role supports safe, clean, and welcoming campus housing. The position offers a 40-hour work week with a flexible schedule, including possible nights and weekends, and a comprehensive USC

Qualifications

• Accreditation from a technical school or skilled trades program.
• Experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair appliances and building systems.
• Knowledge of safety practices and tools used in maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs across university housing facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair appliances including washers, dryers, fridges, ovens and related equipment.
• Perform plumbing repairs such as toilets, sinks, showers, and fixtures.
• Carry out general maintenance: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, renovations.
• Respond to maintenance requests via the work order system.
• Assist with room renovations and facility improvement projects.
• Inspect facilities to identify maintenance concerns and safety issues.
