University of South Carolina Beaufort is seeking a Housing Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across university housing facilities. You will troubleshoot appliances and plumbing, handle carpentry and electrical tasks, and respond to requests through the work order system.
The role supports safe, clean, and welcoming campus housing. The position offers a 40-hour work week with a flexible schedule, including possible nights and weekends, and a comprehensive USC

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of safety practices, tools, equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance of buildings.
Skills in making emergency and general repairs and adjustments to equipment used in building and maintenance work. Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
Job Duty Performs maintenance and repair tasks in such areas as carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing. Maintains equipment used in all parts of job. Works through work order system to complete orders as assigned.

Job Duty Troubleshoot and performs minor repairs on appliances, such as washer/dryer, kitchen appliances. Replaces as necessary. Repairs plumbing as needed including toilets, shower heads, and kitchen fixtures.

Job Duty Responds to emergency repairs to provide protection of building and safety of students. Contacts appropriate Facilities and Housing staff to report emergency repairs. Secures facility until further assessment can be made to determine extent of repairs needed.
