Job summary

Covenant Retirement Communities & Covenant Care is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to support campus cleaning, minor maintenance, and linen duties across our retirement communities. You will clean assigned areas daily, handle minor repairs, and assist with resident moves to ensure comfortable, well-maintained spaces for residents and staff.

The role emphasizes adherence to schedule, infection control standards, and respectful interactions with older adults.

Qualifications

• Some high school education.
• Housekeeping and/or general maintenance experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbal and written, with residents and staff.
• Dependability and common sense, and the ability to organize daily cleaning schedule to finish each day’s assignment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work within standard policy and procedures, with limited direct supervision.
• An interest in and desire to work with older adults is desired.
• May require availability on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedule and infection control guidelines.
• Complete minor maintenance including light bulbs, plunge toilets and change batteries as needed.
• Follow the established schedule to perform cleaning tasks inside and outside.
• Maintain all floors via sweeping, mopping, buffing, extraction, etc., as scheduled.
• Assist in cleaning spills and deep clean rooms/units during transfers/discharges.
• Move furniture as needed and assist in resident moves.
• Participate in campus linen program (distribute, collect, prepare for pick-up) and bed making in guest rooms or residences.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report repairs.
• Observe and report repairs to facilities, furniture, fixtures, etc.
• Participate in receiving campus supplies and snow/ice salting as needed.
