Job summary

Covenant Retirement Communities & Covenant Care is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to provide comprehensive cleaning and minor maintenance across the campus, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, light maintenance, linen handling, bed making, and assisting with resident moves.

The role emphasizes adherence to infection control standards, effective English communication, and the ability to work with older adults.

Qualifications

• Some high school education is preferred.
• Experience in housekeeping and/or general maintenance is desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents and staff.
• Dependability and common sense, with the ability to organize daily cleaning schedules.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
• Interest in working with older adults is encouraged.
• Weekend availability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning in assigned areas following schedule and infection control guidelines.
• Complete minor maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and batteries.
• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, waxing, vacuuming and related tasks.
• Assist in cleaning spills and performing project cleaning (walls, ceilings, vents, windows).
• Handle trash and recyclables and participate in linen program and bed making in guest rooms or residences.
• Assist with moves and set up of rooms during transfers/discharges, and help receive campus supplies.
