Job summary

Edinburg CISD is seeking a Grounds Worker in the Maintenance & Operations Department to care for school grounds at L.B. Johnson Elementary. This hourly position covers a 261‑day year with a wage range of $15.25 to $19.32 per hour, and reports to the Grounds/Foreman.

Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, irrigation, parking lot upkeep, trash removal, and safety compliance. Qualifications require a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds activities: mow lawn, trim shrubs, and cultivate flowers with assigned equipment.
• Maintain asphalt parking lots and drives.
• Perform irrigation duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Empty trash and garbage containers into designated bins.
• Report major building maintenance needs to Head Custodian.
• Keep outside walkways clean of debris and dirt.
• Maintain security in the school building per policy procedures.
• Perform duties safely to avoid injuries to self or others.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
