Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Landscape Services Supervisor to lead grounds maintenance operations on the UT Main Campus. The role plans, coordinates, and supervises mowing, planting, irrigation repair, fertilization, pruning, and upkeep of landscaped areas.

Responsibilities include supervising crews, maintaining equipment, purchasing supplies, and coordinating labor for events such as commencements and football games.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related field required.
• Five years landscape maintenance experience with four years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to communicate effectively with university staff.
• Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Must obtain Texas Pesticide Applicator's License within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise several landscaping crews in performing tasks to maintain turf, shrubs, irrigation, and hardscape.
• Keep detailed records, conduct performance evaluations, timekeeping and disciplinary actions.
• Enter daily labor records into UT Works database and monitor the workbench for Landscape Services.
• Purchase supplies and materials to support projects per university policies.
• Manage staff schedules, paperwork, and time reports; coordinate overtime as needed.
• Support campus events and collaborate with other departments within Campus Operations.
