Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to perform routine lawn and landscape maintenance on campus. Responsibilities include mowing, pruning, sod work, and tending flowerbeds, with irrigation system upkeep and minor repairs.

The role requires safe operation of grounds equipment and adherence to safety procedures. Under supervision, you will learn to handle more advanced tasks and participate in training to expand your skills.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of landscaping methods and techniques.
• Familiarity in operation of equipment.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

Responsibilities

• Mows, trims, and edges turf grass areas.
• Prunes trees and trim shrubs.
• Grades, seeds and lays sod.
• Maintains flowerbeds or other decorative landscaping.
• Installs and maintains irrigation systems; performs minor repairs.
• Maintains walkways, driveways and parking lots; remove ice and snow as needed.
• Reports safety issues and equipment problems.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on equipment.
• Adheres to established safety procedures.
• Develops and applies new skills through training.
• Completes duties as assigned.
