Job summary

Sweet Briar College is seeking a Grounds Crew Member to maintain and beautify campus grounds, support horticulture, land management, and vineyard efforts. The position is full-time, day shift, with potential overtime during peak seasons; weekend/hours flexibility may be required to ensure campus operations and safety.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as Bobcat, tractor, backhoe.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Polic e grounds, clean sidewalks and maintain grounds.
• Perform snow removal and operate snow equipment as needed.
• Assist landscape services: grading, planting trees and shrubs.
• Maintain lawns: mowing, edging, fertilizing and seeding.
• Assist in management of campus grounds projects.
