Job summary

Woodberry Forest School is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain a 1,200-acre campus. You will perform mowing, trimming, planting, irrigation, and seasonal landscape work, supporting athletic fields and campus beautification.

Ideal candidates have experience in grounds maintenance, turfgrass, horticulture, or golf-course care, with a valid driver’s license and commitment to safety. This is a full-time, outdoor role with seasonal demands.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, turfgrass management, horticulture, golf course maintenance, or related field.
• Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment safely.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physically demanding work including lifting, bending, standing, and operating equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Pesticide applicator certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, edge, blow, and maintain grounds.
• Operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, tractors, and other equipment.
• Assist with athletic fields and recreational areas maintenance.
• Plant, mulch, prune, weed, and display seasonal flowers.
• Support turfgrass management: aerification, seeding, fertilization.
• Maintain irrigation systems and perform basic repairs.
• Keep landscaped areas clean, safe, and organized.
