Job summary

Morris School District is seeking a grounds and maintenance employee to perform routine care of the grounds and landscaping across district properties. This full-time, 12-month position requires the ability to mow, trim, edge, seed, lime, water fields, and maintain outdoor equipment.

Candidates must have a Black Seal Boiler License within two years of employment and hold a valid driver's license. Availability for after-hours emergencies and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform duties in grounds and landscaping maintenance.
• Availability for emergency after-hours service as assigned.
• Ability to interact effectively with staff and others.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and operate outdoor equipment safely.
• Must possess or obtain Black Seal Boiler License within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Care for grounds and landscaping on district properties.
• Mow, weed, trim grass, trees, shrubs as needed.
• Keep walks clear of debris and patch as needed.
• Lime, seed, water fields and planting beds as directed.
• Maintain and repair outdoor equipment and grounds fixtures.
• Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking lots as weather dictates.
• Assist in plant operation and maintenance as directed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
