Job summary

Springfield College is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus grounds safely and professionally. The role includes mowing, landscaping, seasonal tasks, snow removal, and assorted grounds maintenance across the campus.

The position requires 1-3 years of outdoor grounds experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. Pesticide applicator license is preferred or obtainable within 6 months; compensation reflects licenses and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years outdoor/grounds experience (mowing, raking, planting, equipment operation).
• Pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Background check including driving history will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscaping, turf, garden, tree maintenance and related grounds duties including mowing, herbicide spraying, fertilizing, seeding and aerating.
• Assist in supervising student workers and outside contractors as part of Grounds Department.
• Operate hand and power equipment; maintain and care for grounds vehicles and equipment.
• Support Facilities Campus Services to meet deadlines and campus community needs.
• Adhere to safety, health, environmental, quality, and productivity standards.
