Job summary

Brigham Young University is seeking a Grounds Events Assistant to support outdoor campus events. The role reports to the Grounds Event Supervisor and collaborates with students and BYU staff. Hours fluctuate with campus events, including football games and snow removal.

The position is physically demanding, with requirements to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a physical lift test. Prior experience in event support and a professional demeanor are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with event support.
• Ability to work in a professional manner with the public and other departments for events.
• Proven organizational experience and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. daily.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment in a safe, effective manner to minimize risk of injury and property damage.
• Deal with campus, MTC, and Church employees/visitors professionally.
• Operate and maintain a university vehicle.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Schedule and set up outdoor events.
• Track work orders and assist in supervision.
• Repair, maintenance, and inventory of equipment.
• Handle waste removal associated with events.
• General deliveries and transportation of equipment.
• Seasonal snow removal as needed.
