Job summary

Lewis & Clark College is seeking a part-time Grounds Worker to support annual campus maintenance and special projects on campus in Portland, Oregon. You will work under the grounds supervisor and help with a variety of tasks using hand and power tools.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to kneel, bend, and squat, and the capability to operate the necessary grounds equipment. A valid work-study eligibility is preferred and transportation training may be required.

Qualifications

• Resume and cover letter required.
• Grounds maintenance or landscaping experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work in stooped, kneeling, or squatting positions.
• Must be able to operate tools and equipment used in grounds tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power tools safely to complete assigned tasks.
• Move, load, unload, and deliver materials and equipment.
• Assist with setup and takedown for campus events.
• Pass drivers training to operate campus vehicles.
• Communicate information clearly and effectively.
