Compass Group USA in Winona, MN is hiring for a full-time Food Unit Lead to supervise and coordinate food-service staff, ensuring quality, safety and customer satisfaction. The role provides a hands-on leadership position on a college campus with opportunities for growth.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:00 pm and 2:00 pm–10:00 pm. Prior food-service and supervisory experience is preferred, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior food-service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to coordinate activities of food-service staff.
• Strong customer service and sanitation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service by giving one-on-one attention to detail.
• Oversees and participates in preparation and service of food and beverages per standards.
• Ensures timely, efficient meal service and supervises serving of meals.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email.
• Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence.
• Determines work procedures, prepares schedules and expedites workflow.
• Uses systems for daily/weekly/monthly reports (inventory, payroll, timekeeping).
• Handles cash deposits and change funds per policy.
• Orders food and supplies from approved sources.
• Directs sanitation and safety of facility and staff per standards and regulations.
• Develops sanitation schedules and ensures adherence for cleaning areas and utensils.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Helps select and orient staff; oversees training in responsibility areas.
