Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service is seeking a versatile Food Service Worker to support daily back-and-front house operations, from food prep and catering support to dining hall check-in and restocking. You will collaborate with the Chef and Dining Director to maintain quality and a safe, sanitized environment.

The role requires 1–2 years kitchen or catering experience, basic knife skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexibility for weekend/holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of kitchen or catering experience preferred.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
• Able to stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication to coordinate during busy service hours.
• Food Handler’s Card required or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Execute prep tasks including washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients.
• Master dough preparation, toppings, and operate pizza ovens for consistent quality.
• Support setup and breakdown of catering events, including food transport, buffet arrangement, and guest service.
• Assist Chef by retrieving equipment, managing par-cooked items, and maintaining an organized workspace.
• Ensure all work areas, utensils, and equipment are cleaned following health and safety regulations.
• Help wrap, date-label, and store food items while monitoring stock levels to notify management of low supplies.
• Assist cleaning tables, floor and restocking the dining hall area.
• Check-in students and collect payment for meals.
