Millersville University is hiring a Food Service Worker 1 for the Upper Deck in the Dining and Catering Services department. This 9‑month role covers duties across the dish room, kitchen, serving areas, dining rooms, deli and catering events on campus.

Qualifications

• Six months food service experience.
• Ability to learn procedures and practices for food handling, sanitation, cleanliness.
• Provide exemplary customer service to all customers.
• Use computer cash register.
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic math skills for recipe and quantity control.
• Work effectively with coworkers and customers.
• Adhere to dress code and hygiene standards.
• May be required to work in cold storage areas.
• May be required to have a valid driver's license to drive university van, box truck or motorized skid.
• Successful interview.
• Successful completion of three background checks.

Responsibilities

• Wash pots, pans, and other preparatory utensils.
• Clean dining rooms, serving areas, kitchens, and other food preparation areas.
• Clean and sanitize all food service equipment.
• Handle cash transactions and operate POS.
• Deliver and set up food items at various campus locations.
• Work at multiple locations and functions, including occasional outdoor events.
• May need to work in cold storage areas.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
