Job summary

Wellesley College is seeking an entry-level General Service Worker for food service operations on campus. The role involves setting up, delivering and serving food, maintaining clean kitchen areas, and complying with ServSafe and NSF standards.

You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with starting wages and staged increases as outlined in the IMSEUA contract, and you may participate in special events and meal service operations on campus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to use chemicals required in daily cleaning.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic English required.
• Uniforms as furnished by department.
• Hair Restraint as required in College-Union Agreement.
• Meal Breaks as assigned by management.
• Must have reliable transportation
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer's sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• The General Service Worker provides high quality service to customers at all times and interacts with customers professionally.
• Loads/unloads the dishmachine and transfers clean dishware to designated areas; washes pots and pans; removes trash.
• Assists with special events and prep work (fruits/vegetables) and assists with serving lines; ensures dessert and bread service.
• Complies with state/local food service regulations, ServSafe and NSF standards.
