Job summary

Western Connecticut State University is seeking a full-time Skilled Maintainer to join the Environmental & Facilities Custodial Department for both campuses in Danbury, CT. The role covers plumbing, carpentry, electrical and/or painting tasks, with required lifting, driving license, and overtime as needed.

Candidates should have two years of skilled trades experience and be able to operate various maintenance equipment.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in one of the skilled trades (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and/or painting).
• Must possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
• Must be able to lift 90 lbs.
• A medical exam, drug screen, and criminal background check will be required prior to offer of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of skilled trades tasks across campus facilities.
• Operate equipment and assist qualified craft workers as needed.
• Maintain and repair building systems to ensure safety and functionality.
