Job summary

Arizona State University seeks a Trades Helper on the Tempe campus to support skilled trades staff in installation, maintenance, and repair tasks across residence halls. Working Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., the position provides hands-on experience in facilities operations, with opportunities to learn and grow within ASU’s Facilities Management team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience assisting trades personnel on repairs and installing fixtures.
• Knowledge of residential maintenance, plumbing, HVAC.
• Proficient with basic MS Word/Outlook and TMA systems.
• Commitment to customer service and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist trades technicians in Residential Facilities Services with repairs and material handling.
• Deliver and collect materials and equipment needed on the job site.
• Perform minor repairs and cleaning of equipment as required.
• Support job site cleanup after work is completed.
• Communicate work status and timelines to occupants and team members.
• Use electronic work order systems to report progress and issues.
• Safely operate university vehicles as needed.
• Utilize hand tools and equipment specific to essential duties.
