Job summary

Arizona State University seeks a Facilities Assistant 1 in Grounds Services (Tempe campus) to maintain grounds and support landscaping tasks across campus locations. The role involves operating lawn and irrigation equipment, planting and pruning vegetation, and performing basic repairs as needed.

The position is based at Tempe but may require work at other ASU campuses. Shift is Mon–Fri, 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m., with a starting wage of $20.12 per hour and ASU benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with grounds equipment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in desert conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and roads; water, weed control, and debris removal.
• Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment.
• Plant shrubs, trees, and flowers; prune and trim vegetation.
• Respond to campus work orders and support events as needed.
