Job summary

Galen College of Nursing in Richardson, TX is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform routine maintenance, support security, and manage repairs across campus. You will work with vendors, replace lights, paint, and coordinate custodial tasks to maintain a safe, functional learning environment.

The ideal candidate will be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and communicate effectively with staff, students, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Special Qualifications: Communicate orally with co-workers, customers, clients, or the public in a face-to-face, one-to-one setting or using a telephone. Work cooperatively with other contractors, employees, various levels of management, and students.
• Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Lift 25-50 pounds.
• Degree of Supervision: Minimal

Responsibilities

• Performs minor repairs of all building and equipment.
• Install cable and other items, as needed.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests, as required.
• Assemble and/or repair doors, locks, tables, and other items, as needed.
• Use tools ranging from common hand tools to precision instruments and devices.
• Replace light bulbs and supplies, as needed.
