Job summary

Galen College of Nursing in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to oversee the facilities team and ensure reliable campus operations. You will coordinate maintenance, security, and janitorial activities, and develop SOPs and schedules to keep the campus safe and well maintained.

Candidates should have strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with contractors and staff in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to lift 25–50 pounds.
• Experience with handyman/household tools and basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all facilities issues, projects and activities with campus leadership.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and track progress in the helpdesk system.
• Create and implement SOPs for facilities, including preventive maintenance and cleaning standards.
• Develop and maintain facility schedules for all department staff.
• Perform security patrols and monitor for safety hazards.
• Coordinate with contractors, employees, and students to resolve facilities matters.
• Maintain janitorial supplies and inventory; oversee routine maintenance tasks.
