Job summary

Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations on the campus and centers. You will lead a team, manage work orders, and coordinate event setups, ensuring safety, code compliance, and reliable facilities services for students and staff.

The role requires five years in facilities, supervisory experience, and an associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years related work experience in a skilled trade or facilities department operation or maintenance.

Responsibilities

Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate a team of maintenance staff.
Manage daily work orders and assign tasks by priority.
Coordinate setups/takedowns for Kanesville arena and other events on and off campus.
Maintain buildings, roofs, grounds, roads, sidewalks, and parking lots.
Oversee lock and key systems and bus transportation/scheduling.
Oversee snow removal operations to maintain campus safety.
Create, implement, and manage a structured preventative maintenance program.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and building safety codes.
Coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors and campus departments.
Address housing facility concerns and manage room inspections and turns during summer breaks.
Must be available 24/7 for emergency callouts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
