Job summary

The UI Center for Advancement in Iowa City seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth operation of building automation and mechanical systems. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will tackle electrical and mechanical issues, support events with student workers, and help maintain a high-quality environment at the Levitt Center for University Advancement.

On-site work is required at our Iowa City office, with some after-hours on-call status.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree preferred with 4 years of facilities experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

Monitor, operate, and maintain mechanical equipment.
Respond to HVAC-related comfort concerns and coordinate repairs.
Inspect preventive maintenance for AHUs: bearings, motors, belts, and replacements.
Assess electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance issues and coordinate with contractors.
Use building automation systems to diagnose and repair issues (Johnson Control, Daikin, Walchem).
Perform general carpentry and maintenance tasks to improve facility aesthetics.
Assist with snow removal, lawn care and grounds maintenance.
Maintain operating logs and compliance with policies and procedures.
Share on-call responsibilities and occasional overtime may be required.
