Job summary

Seward County Community College is seeking a facilities leader to direct grounds maintenance, safety, and related operations on campus. You will oversee carpentry, locksmith, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, and security services, while managing budgets and staff.

The role requires coordinating with administration and responding to emergencies on a rural campus in southwest Kansas. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of relevant experience and a two-year degree or equivalent training, with

Qualifications

• Two to five years of facilities or related experience.
• Two-year college degree or equivalent training.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Directs operational, financial, and personnel activities of grounds maintenance and safety on campus.
• Manage building craft areas (carpentry, locksmith, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, roof and road functions).
• Oversee security services and monitor safety conditions in residence halls and buildings.
• Maintain records for fleet vehicles, vehicle tags and insurance, and vehicle maintenance.
• Coordinate special events and respond to emergencies and alarms.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous and controlled waste disposal regulations.
