Job summary

City University of New York's Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism seeks a Campus Services and Facilities Manager to oversee day-to-day facilities operations. The role includes budgeting, policy implementation, and coordination with IT, Public Safety, engineering, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six years' relevant experience required.
• Experience in facilities management and space planning.
• Experience supporting facilities-related capital projects and construction.
• Knowledge of CUNY and NYS asset management, procurement regulations.
• Experience with space management, room scheduling, and asset management software.
• Experience serving as liaison between building occupants and facilities professionals.
• Exceptional customer-service orientation and collaboration with diverse constituencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supervising staff; motivating and working with diverse constituencies.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manages the campus services/facilities budget.
• Supports Capital Projects and contractor oversight.
• Collaborates to develop and monitor operating policies and procedures.
• Coordinates facility and equipment maintenance and repairs with internal/external teams.
• Oversees storage, transfer, and disposal of property and e-waste per regulations.
• Manages setup/breakdown of events and office moves as directed.
• Assists with space allocations and utilization tracking.
• Facilitates campus purchases for technology, furniture, and supplies.
• Liaises with building management on HVAC and electrical services matters.
• Supervises Audio-Visual, Property Management, Custodial, and other Facilities staff.
