Job summary

Southeast New Mexico College in Carlsbad, NM is seeking a Manager of Facilities to lead daily operation, maintenance, and safety of the campus. You will supervise facilities staff, coordinate maintenance and projects, and manage vendors to ensure reliable, compliant, and welcoming spaces for instruction and student services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of project leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with facilities management in complex environments (commercial/governmental/educational).

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operation and maintenance of college buildings, grounds, utilities, and assets.
• Supervise and develop facilities staff; set performance expectations and safety standards.
• Prioritize work orders, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades.
• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and resource management.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors; ensure safety and compliance.
• Ensure regulatory, code, OSHA, accessibility, and environmental compliance.
• Maintain inspection, testing, and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with departments to minimize disruptions and support events.
• Coordinate emergency response and after-hours coverage.
