Job summary

CHESS is seeking an Assistant Director of Facilities to direct maintenance and ensure college facilities are structurally sound, mechanically operational, and electrically efficient and safe. You will develop, document, and administer preventive maintenance programs and supervise facilities staff.

The role requires strong supervisory, budgeting, and coordination skills to oversee building systems, landscaping, and vendor work across the campus in Espanola, NM.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in facilities management or related field.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Basic knowledge of building trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional relationship with staff, faculty, students, and community.
• Direct facilities team and coordinate work with vendors.
• Oversee budgeting and maintenance records for campus buildings.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Post-hire, train, mentor, and supervise facilities staff.
