Job summary

Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC) in Carlsbad, NM, seeks a Manager of Construction and Special Projects to plan, coordinate, and manage construction, renovation, and capital projects from start to finish. You will work with architects, engineers, contractors, and campus stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and ensuring compliance with codes, safety, and accessibility requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, facilities management, business administration, or related field with five years of progressive experience in construction, renovation, capital or facilities project management.
• Minimum of three years of project leadership/supervisory experience and a valid driver's license.
• Experience with commercial, governmental, educational, industrial, or similarly complex facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction, renovation, capital improvement, and special projects from planning to closeout.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and campus stakeholders; resolve design, scheduling, and construction issues.
• Review plans, estimates, bids, contracts, and documents for completeness and compliance.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, and cash-flow; track expenditures and change orders.
• Ensure work complies with safety, codes, accessibility standards, and regulations.
• Handle procurement and contract administration per college policies; support negotiations and payments.
• Plan activities to minimize disruption to instruction and campus operations.
