Job summary

Benedictine is seeking a Facilities Manager at the Ridgely campus to lead facilities maintenance, campus infrastructure, vendor management, and capital planning. You will supervise staff, coordinate projects, manage budgets, and ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role combines strategic planning with hands-on daily maintenance and requires strong leadership, communication, and budgeting skills aligned with Benedictine’s mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of prior commercial facilities management experience in a multi-building facility.
• Previous supervisory experience is required.
• Budget development, projection, and management experience is required.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, security, and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Hire, supervise, and provide leadership to campus facilities maintenance staff.
• Oversee maintenance, construction, improvement, and repair of campus buildings and grounds.
• Coordinate facility projects with department managers and schedule with minimal program impact.
• Ensure routine maintenance services are completed on schedule.
• Solicit bids from contractors and obtain approvals for final contracts.
• Develop and manage facilities maintenance and capital budgets with leadership and the Board.
• Review contracted work for quality, accuracy, and completion.
• Manage the facility work-order system and report concerns to leadership.
• Maintain facility safety standards per local, state, federal, and insurance requirements.
• Participate in on-call schedule and handle weather-related emergencies.
• Coordinate inspections (boiler, health, fire, water, sewer).
• Engage with the Board’s Facilities Committee and other organizational initiatives.
• Cooperate with Benedictine administration and regulatory agencies during inspections and investigations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
