Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a work-study helper to support campus facilities and maintenance operations. You will assist technicians and engineers with routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repair tasks while ensuring safe operation of building systems and maintaining records.

You will change filters on HVAC equipment, inspect boilers, lubricate bearings, and manage stock for work orders, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians and engineers with routine preventive maintenance, inspections and basic repairs.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment and maintain spreadsheet documentation.
• Check domestic hot water boilers for proper operation; lubricate bearings and verify proper operation of exhaust fans.
• Check and replace belts as needed; test EPO gas flows.
• Prepare and clean the job site with safety in mind; dispose of waste and flammable materials.
• Perform inventory control of supplies and determine products needed for work orders.
• Replace water fountain filters; perform other duties as assigned.
