Job summary

Esplanade Association seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to launch and lead daily operations for the Smith Family Pavilion at Charlesbank, Boston. You will oversee HVAC, MEP and security, establish SOPs, manage vendors and in-house staff, and ensure safety and accessibility for public use and events.

The role requires on-site presence in Boston, coordination with Visitor Services and Park Operations, and regular reporting to support sustainability and efficiency goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Facilities Engineering or related field preferred; 5+ years of facilities or trades management experience may substitute.
• Flexibility to respond to emergencies outside normal hours; on-site presence.
• Strong management, organization, communication, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC, MEP and Security/Alarm systems from pre-opening through operation of the Smith Family Pavilion.
• Establish safety protocols and maintenance manuals; manage warranties and close-out paperwork.
• Develop SOPs; supervise facilities and custodial operations; evaluate contracted services.
