Job summary

Boerne ISD seeks an Assistant Head Custodian to supervise custodial staff and ensure a clean, safe learning environment across the campus. The role coordinates daily operations, maintains cleaning schedules, and supports emergency response protocols while liaising with campus administration and district maintenance.

Responsibilities include planning shifts, event setup, inventory control, and enforcing safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED recognized by TEA or regional accrediting agency.
• Three (3) years of custodial experience or equivalent.
• Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.
• Ability to clearly and accurately record information.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment, cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate custodial activities; prepare work schedules; supervise day/night staff.
• Promote efficiency, morale, teamwork, and interaction with staff.
• Direct and assist in setting up facilities for special events.
• Acquire supplies and custodial equipment; maintain inventory and budget per procedures.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the building and grounds.
• Maintain established cleaning schedules; clean floors, whiteboards, waste baskets, windows, furniture, etc.
• Ensure doors/windows are securely locked; follow safety procedures; report unsafe conditions.
