Job summary

University of Minnesota, Duluth facilities management seeks a full-time lead worker in building and grounds. You will supervise a team, assign tasks, and coordinate custodial and grounds duties across campus.

You will inspect facilities, guide training, and ensure safety and proper use of equipment, while maintaining a professional campus presence and strong communication with staff and students.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write competently in English and lift 50 lbs to shoulder height.
• Three years of experience in building and grounds work.

Responsibilities

• Acts as lead worker for building and grounds workers in custodial and grounds duties on University campuses.
• Gives assignments and work instructions to employees and student workers; adjusts schedules as needed.
• Inspects buildings for cleanliness, equipment, and repairs; reports to supervisor.
• Assists in on-the-job training for custodial tools and equipment; ensures proper maintenance of equipment.
• Leads a crew for snow and ice removal from walks, steps and drives.
• Maintains professional appearance and communicates clearly with campus community.
