Job summary

The University of Minnesota, Duluth (UMD) invites applications for a Regular Full-Time Custodian in Dining Services, located in Duluth, MN. The role involves custodial duties across dining areas, restroom sanitation, trash/recycling handling, and furniture setup for university functions.

Responsibilities include following safety procedures, addressing maintenance requests, and responding to calls via radio or pager.

Qualifications

About the Job

Job Duties:

Custodial Work:

• Floor Cleaning in all Dining Services areas including commercial kitchen settings
• Scrub and sanitize restrooms, shower rooms and locker areas, using approved cleaning agents and procedures.
• Collect and empty trash and pick up recycling and transport to the proper pick up site. Keep trash containers clean.
• Setting up and moving furniture for university functions
• Observe deficiencies in building hardware, doors, windows, fixtures, etc., and write maintenance requests for repair.
• Know and follow safety procedures and policies in everyday work. Use protective equipment.
• Monitor radio/telephone or pager and respond to trouble calls.

Dining Services retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position to assist in all areas of Dining Operations based on business needs.

This position works In-person, 40 hours a week, 10-months per year. This position is eligible for overtime.

• Schedule is based on business needs and may include evenings and weekends as necessary to meet production schedules.

About the Department

Pay and Benefits
