Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Student Events Assistant to support campus event planning and execution. You will help organize inventories, assist with setup and breakdown, and monitor student attendance at activities.

This on-site role requires a friendly, reliable team player with strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently when needed. Evening and daytime shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at AUM with at least two semesters remaining.
• Previous event coordination or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Must be available during standard event hours at least three days per week: Morning/afternoon 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM; Evening 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain inventory of event supplies and storage areas
• Assist with setup and breakdown of campus events
• Support event execution in accordance with established guidelines and procedures
• Monitor and record student attendance at activities
• Handle all college property with appropriate care and responsibility
• Foster student engagement and maintain a welcoming environment
• Ensure activities remain safe, orderly, and compliant with campus policies
• Participate in required staff training sessions
• Support additional Student Affairs activities and events as assigned
