Job summary

Boise State University is seeking a dedicated Events Security Manager to oversee the part-time event security program for athletic and campus events. You will recruit, hire, train, and schedule staff, ensure safety protocols, and manage event-specific procedures.

You will also supervise budgets, coordinate with Athletics and event organizers, and respond to emergencies during events while maintaining excellent service to attendees and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of National Incident Management System and Incident Command System principles.
• Experience training others in security-related topics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized with strong analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and management skills and ability to manage conflict.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and other personnel/agencies.
• Ability to respond to emergencies appropriately and timely.
• Ability to create and manage budgets, create reports, and present findings.
• Ability to supervise, evaluate, educate, and train others.
• Ability to exercise discretion with confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of the part-time event security program, including recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling staff for athletic and campus events.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, safety protocols, and event procedures for security personnel.
• Manage scheduling and assignment of security staff to ensure adequate event coverage.
• Provide feedback and conduct performance reviews; implement coaching and disciplinary actions.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive training program for part-time security personnel.
• Oversee the budget related to the part-time event security program, including purchasing equipment and inventory control.
• Coordinate with Athletics and campus organizers to meet security needs and training requirements.
• Respond to campus emergencies during events; coordinate with full-time security and external law enforcement when needed.
• Maintain high customer service and professionalism with attendees, faculty, staff, and the public.
• May perform other duties as needed.
