Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for Campus Event Operations (Utility Team).

This role oversees the utility team's daily workflow in the Supervisor's absence and coordinates with Facilities Management to ensure timely setup for campus events and safe handling of equipment and furniture. Responsibilities include supervising work orders, assigning tasks, maintaining equipment, assisting with snow removal in winter, and performing related duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 6 months of work experience.
• Ability to learn new skills and work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR.
• Willingness to perform physical duties and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflow of the Utility Team in the Supervisor's absence.
• Coordinate with Supervisor and Facilities Management to assign work orders and weekly schedules.
• Ensure safe and proper use of materials, equipment, and vehicles owned by the U‑Team Department.
• Assist with winter snow/ice removal and building/area maintenance as needed.
• Perform construction cleanup or related duties as required.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor and maintain equipment in good condition.
