The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance & Set-Up Worker to support preventive maintenance and event setup in the A. Ray Olpin University Union. The role also includes taking down setups after events and assisting with work orders.

This entry-level position offers on-the-job training, with a daytime schedule and full-time employment, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training; six months of experience or education substituted.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and stooping, and to use a variety of equipment.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep facilities, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Complete facility work orders, including basic repairs, cleaning, and maintenance tasks.
• Prepare meeting spaces for daily events, including planning, setup, and takedown.
• Set up chairs, tables, and equipment as needed for events.
• Provide incidental services related to events, such as garbage removal or cleaning.
• May unload equipment or supplies; perform other duties as assigned.
