Job summary

Maryville University in St. Louis seeks a proactive Coordinator of Student Engagement & Campus Traditions to design and oversee programs that strengthen campus belonging. You will advise the student programming board, mentor leaders, and coordinate traditions from Welcome Week to Homecoming.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, event planning, and data-driven assessment to continuously improve student experiences. Hybrid work is offered with a strong focus on inclusivity and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in student engagement, campus activities, event planning, or related work.
• Strong relationship-building and leadership development skills.
• Experience planning engaging programs or large-scale events.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort using Anthology, Asana, Slack, Canva, Canvas or similar systems.
• Experience using assessment and data to improve programs and student outcomes.
• Commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive experiences for students from all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Advise CONNECT (Committee on New N' Existing Campus Traditions) and mentor student leaders.
• Plan and execute signature campus experiences (Welcome Week, Homecoming, Spring Fling, etc.).
• Recruit, onboard, and develop future student leaders shaping Maryville's experience.
• Supervise and mentor Front Desk staff and graduate interns; manage scheduling and training.
• Collaborate with campus partners to ensure inclusive and accessible programs.
• Use data to assess program effectiveness and improve engagement across services.
• Manage programming budgets and coordinate vendors and logistics.
