Job summary

Maryville University in St. Louis, MO seeks a Coordinator of Student Engagement & Campus Traditions to build vibrant, inclusive campus experiences. You’ll advise CONNECT, mentor student leaders, and help shape traditions from Welcome Week to Homecoming and beyond.

Responsibilities include leading student employees, coordinating events, and using data to improve engagement. A Bachelor's is required; Master’s preferred; salary range $40,000–$50,000 with hybrid work options and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience in student engagement, campus activities, or event planning.
• Strong relationship-building and leadership development skills.
• Experience planning engaging programs or large events.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with Anthology, Asana, Slack, Canva, Canvas, or similar systems.
• Experience using assessment and data to improve programs and outcomes.
• Commitment to inclusive experiences for diverse students.
• Valid driver's license to operate university vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary advisor for CONNECT, Maryville's student programming board.
• Mentor student leaders through event planning, leadership development, and collaboration.
• Recruit and onboard future student leaders shaping the Maryville experience.
• Lead or support signature campus traditions and events.
• Assess program effectiveness via participation data and feedback.
• Oversee student employees, scheduling, training, and development.
• Manage programming budgets and coordinate vendors/logistics.
