Job summary

The University of Iowa seeks an Engagement Coordinator to serve as an ambassador for the Iowa Memorial Union. This role blends outreach, event planning, marketing, and student development, with campus visibility and opportunities to impact students, employees, alumni, and visitors.

Responsibilities include leading the IMU Welcome Center, building campus partnerships, promoting spaces and services, planning events, and guiding student staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in outreach, sales, relationship management, hospitality, program coordination, customer service, or a related area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual outreach and engagement plans for campus/community audiences.
• Build relationships with university departments, student organizations, alumni, nonprofits, businesses, and partners.
• Serve as the primary ambassador for the IMU via presentations, tours, networking events, and outreach activities.
• Promote IMU spaces, services, and programs with Marketing/Communications on materials and outreach.
• Identify and refer prospective clients and partners through outreach and follow-up.
• Coordinate tours, open houses, and engagement events to showcase the IMU.
• Plan and manage internal engagement programs and events like Finals@IMU and Homecoming activities.
• Track outcomes through data collection, reporting, and stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership and oversight for the IMU Welcome Center, including staff training and customer experience.
• Supervise student employees, including recruitment, scheduling, training, and performance management.
