Job summary

Columbus State University seeks a Student Development Coordinator, Connection & Engagement, to support a vibrant campus community and enhance student success. You will oversee the Student Activities Council, coordinate RSOs, and partner across departments to design inclusive programming that fosters belonging on both campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Typically 1–3 years in higher education advising, developing, coordinating, and evaluating student life programs.
• Experience working closely with students in a developmental capacity in a higher education setting.
• Experience initiating, planning, implementing, and evaluating episodic and ongoing programmatic efforts.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic planning and knowledge of assessment methods and activities; ability to assess programs and review students' learning outcomes to ensure achievement of objectives and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Advise SAC and oversee the Student Activities Council; recruit/train; lead programming to foster belonging and engagement across Main Campus and RiverPark Campus.
• Coordinate RSOs: registration, documentation, event approvals, trainings, and involvement fairs to connect students with campus organizations.
• Lead major engagement initiatives (e.g., Cougar Kickoff, Legacy Celebration Banquet); collaborate across departments and assess programs for continuous improvement.
