Job summary

Honeywell seeks a Senior Advanced Electrical Engineer for the University of Maryland NextGen Energy Program. You will serve as the SME for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems and lead capital projects from design to completion on the UMD College Park campus.

The role requires 10+ years in MV systems, SKM Power*Tools expertise, and a strong ability to work on-site five days a week, supporting decarbonization goals and campus utilities optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and Maryland PE reciprocity or ability to obtain.
• 10+ years in analysis, design, and operation of medium voltage systems (≥13.8 kV).
• Experience with SKM Power*Tools for short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies.
• Ability to be physically present on UMD campus five days a week and available for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for electrical, instrumentation, and control aspects of UMD Energy Systems.
• Model and analyze medium voltage distribution, generation, and industrial controls.
• Manage capital projects from design through interconnection and implementation.
• Interface with vendors, subcontractors, and third-party engineers; ensure budget adherence.
• Drive decarbonization initiatives and support campus master planning.
